The MKCAN Environmental Hustings was held at the Open University on 23 April. Four political parties were represented – Labour (Cllr Jennifer Wilson-Marklew), Liberal Democrats (Cllr Jane Carr), Conservatives (Cllr Peter Geary) and the Green Party (Tom Bulman). The panel was chaired by Professor Stephen Peake.
The Hustings was part of a campaign by MKCAN in the run up to the 7 May local elections encouraging people to get out and vote and to vote with the environment as a priority. Have a look at the Environmental Priorities poster below that we collated from across MKCAN members for more information on the issues.
We consulted our members about their prime environmental concerns and their ideas were amazing.
All the suggestions from the breakout groups were summarised in this poster — a clear set of Environmental Priorities to make Milton Keynes a place where people, nature, and prosperity can thrive together.
